I get a lot of leaves and pine needles in my pool and the regular vacuum gets it done but at the expense of many hours cleaning out clogs and emptying the skimmer basket over and over. I researched and read the reviews and picked this one. I cable tied the garden hose to the pole to keep the hose connection from breaking off as most of the negative reviews were about this issue. I put the bag on. I have a valve at the end of my hose so I turned the water on and dropped the leaf gulper to the bottom and on top of the leaf pile and the leaves started right into the bag! I found that bumping the gulper up and down gently an inch or two while moving across the leaves speeds up the job. You also want to pull it up the the surface quickly when the bag is full letting the bag hang down so the leaves don't fall back into the pool. I emptied the bag 4 times and it was jam packed with leaves. The leaf gulper saved me literally hours. What would have taken 4 hours took 20 minutes. After 95% of the leaves and debris were out, I switched to the regular vacuum as the gulper won't pull out small debris or acorns, not that I expected it to. If you enjoy researching this stuff, keep on but I'm telling you, you need to look no further. This is the one you want!
