This is a replacement charger, so there's not much to say about. We received a throw-out curb side Power Wheels Jeep with a charger and 3 batteries and everything was dead. Subsequent testing with a VOM showed that the charger was dead, so that was the first replacement. Later--surprise--the batteries all had to be replaced as well. However, I have a suggestion for the DIY inclined. This is a basic charger and the directions specify a minimum and a maximum charging time, which is not very convenient. The more expensive charger will adjust automatically so you don't overcharge the battery. But that charger is really expensive. In fact, in hindsight, what I should have done is kept battery-connector end of the old charger by cutting the wires, so I had the proper connector for these proprietary batteries. Then I could have connected my car-sized battery charger to the Power Wheels battery using the proprietary connector salvaged from the old charger. Of course you'll want to put appropriate connectors on the back half, the ones you'll clamp your battery charger on. If you don't already have a car battery charger, then just buy this one or the more expensive trickle charger. But if you already have a decent charger, you just need to salvage the proprietary end. Just a suggestion--and of course keep the charger away from the kids, which is probably why it has this safety system on it in the first place!
