My bike was shifting very poorly, and after spending too much time fiddling with it, I gave up and took it to the bike shop. The first thing they noticed was my chain was shot. After replacing the chain, it still wasn't shifting well, and that's when they noticed the hanger was bent.The bike shop had a special tool to try to adjust the bent hanger, and they got it closer to where it was meant to be. They also noticed the shifter cable had a kink in it, so they replaced that. At that point, the shifting was a lot better than when I brought it into the shop.I took my bike home, but I still wasn't completely happy with the shifting. I took a closer look at the hanger and noticed it was still a bit bent. I tried unbending it myself, but that was useless. That's when I went online and found this hanger on Amazon.From the photo, it looked like a good match. When I received it, it appeared to be a perfect match. Five minutes later I had it installed on the bike, and my shifting has been good as new ever since.This hanger was a perfect fit for my 2008 Specialized Crosstrail.
